CDD lifeflow article 4 August
Lifeflow article for the Concept Development Department - August 2008
The other day, I downloaded a new software program I have known about for years but have now taken the plunge into learning. The world of design and multimedia is so grand, no one person knows it all so there is always something new to learn, or upgrade! Unfortunately, the "beginners" manual for this new program is over 750 pages! If you don't believe me, visit my office and I will show you the six binders it took to hold it. This seems daunting but at the same time, should I be so surprised? We each face this same type of task every day of our lives. Granted, it might not be a 750 page beginners manual. But each day, we wake up, and if you are like me, you are immediately hit with a burden that is on today's agenda. Some of these burdens are big! They can seem rather overwhelming. But didn't our God say he would provide for us? (Matt 6: 25-33) Our objective in life is clearly stated, "Seek first the Kingdom..." God's calling for us is a continual one. So no wonder Satan will send distractions along the way. Not a one of these distractions are more important than, "Seek first the Kingdom". Many of you have come forward recently excited about different opportunities we are now offering here in the CDD. And the opportunities are continuing to expand! Whether it be in print, web content, video productions, drama, or Sermon Media, to name a few, we have positions waiting for you! Technology is ever changing and we must stay with the curve. Our motto here at the CDD is, "Communicating Christ Creatively". To do this, we must continue changing and developing skills to stay with our culture. Yesterday it was e-mail, today, text messaging. Tomorrow, who knows? But for now, I need to get back to reading my "beginners" manual. I am almost to page 100!
