Questions about volunteering?

Are you interested in volunteering, but you don’t know how or what’s expected?

Said recently to the Children’s Ministry Director, “I believe in what’s happening with Children’s Ministries, but I’m not a kid person.  Could you use my help?”  The Director’s response was, “Yes!  If everyone who supported Children’s Ministries was a “kid person,” so to speak, all we would do is play and we’d never get anything planned!”

Whether you are a big kid at heart or you simply believe in the value of ministry for children, there can be a place in Children’s Ministries for you.  We utilize literally hundreds of  volunteers who bring a variety of talents to the table.   Between our ministries growing and the fact that we live in a transient community where people move in and out frequently, we are always on the lookout for new volunteers.

When you consider that the scope of ministries includes Sunday School, Children’s Church, AWANA, Upward Sports Ministries, Vacation Bible School, Kids’ Camp, and much much more, you can imagine the collection of skills and abilities it takes to make these ministries run successfully.

When?
Some volunteers serve every week, some rotate bi-weekly, others monthly, some for a season, some for a particular event, some “as needed”.  As you can tell, we’re pretty darn flexible.

Who can serve in Children’s Ministries?

All Children’s Ministries volunteers must be Child Protection Policy compliant. This means that you have passed the screening process that our church has in place to protect children including a criminal background check.   All new volunteers must go through this process. We can all agree that the safety and well-being of our children is worth a little paperwork and time.
