Security

We take the safety and security of the preschoolers in our care very seriously here at First Baptist Church Richmond Hill.

Child Protection Policy
Our church’s Child Protection Policy includes our policies and procedures relating to the safety and protection of children under the age of 18. These include:

* A screening process including criminal background checks on all volunteers or employees over the age of 18 who work with minor children.
* Classroom doors with windows for easy viewing into the classroom.
* Video surveillance in many childcare areas.
* Security Tags for Preschoolers

Preschool-Specific Security Measures

On Sunday mornings and at various other ministry activities, children kindergarten-age or younger wear a Security Tag. These tags serve several purposes.

* They allow the teacher to match up children with their parents or caregivers at pick-up time, whether they know the child or not.
* They identify the location of the parent or loved on, in case we need to retrieve them for any reason.
* In case the parent or caregiver is attending a worship service when we need them, the child’s unique Security Tag number would show at the bottom of our Power Point screens, alerting the parent that they need to return to their child’s class.

Our Security Tags are available in our Family Life Center lobby on Sundays and Wednesdays. For smaller gatherings, such as childcare for a Bible study, etc. the Security Tags will be available in the specific classrooms used.
