Child Dedication Sunday coming up soon...
We will be having special Child Dedication services on Sunday, October 19th in both our 9:30 and 11:00 worship services. What Child Dedication is and isn't.
Child Dedication is a time when families of children can make a public yet personal commitment to raise their children in God's love and to His glory. This is not baptism, nor are we saying this is a salvation experience for the child. This is a commitment on behalf of the family and the Church body to raise, love and support each child as he or she grows in Christ.
What do interested families need to do?
First, contact Donna Walden, our Preschool Ministries Director. and tell her
- Your child's full name
- The names of the child's parents
- Any family members who may be attending
- Which service time you prefer
Other things to know:
- Participating families need to bring their child with them to the worship service and sit down toward the front. We usually sing one song and then invite participating families to come forward.
- Take as many pictures and as much video as you want.
- Nobody minds if your baby is fussy! In fact, you'll likely get lots of smiles and giggles.
- After the dedication portion of the service is completed, you are welcome to take your child to his or her Sunday School class or you can keep your child with you if you wish.
Child Dedication can be a special time in the life of a family and hopefully will be small step along the path of the child's road to a personal relationship with Christ.
