Questions about volunteering

Are you interested in volunteering, but you don't know how or what's expected?

Preschool Ministries works with about 40 volunteers on Sunday mornings who bring a variety of talents and time to the table.  (Pastor Ray is also looking for new leaders for the Wednesday night AWANA program as well.)  I'll hit the high points for Preschool Ministries..

When?
Some volunteers serve every week, some rotate bi-weekly, and others yet serve monthly.

Doing what?

Teachers - The lead the class, taking responsibility to learn and prepare for the lesson provided.

Classroom helpers - They assist the lead teacher.

Help Desk Volunteers - They are stationed at the Family Life Center desk or the Preschool Desk located by the Fellowship Hall.  They greet families and help them find appropriate classes for their kids.  They are also available to help teachers if an extra hand is needed temporarily in the classroom.  They are the keeper of the 1st Aid Kit, the finder of extra cups and juice, and an all around helpful person!

Substitute Teachers - Fill in for teachers when they vacation, are sick, or need to be out for any reason.  (If you are remotely interested in subbing, please check out the Substitute Teacher page.  We are careful to not wear out our welcome.)

Just click the links for any of these positions for a more detailed description of the volunteer position.

Who can serve in Preschool Ministries?  All Preschool Ministries volunteers must be Child Protection Policy compliant.  This means that you have passed the screening process that our church has in place to protect children.  All new volunteers must go through this process. We can all agree that the safety and well-being of our children is worth a little paperwork and time.
