Military Spouse's Night Out - February 20th!
It's that time again, Friends!Military Spouse's Night Out (or SNO) is Friday, February 20th from 6 to 9:30 p.m.
We will have volunteers prepared to receive babies through 5th graders of military personnel, while parents (or a parent, if the spouse is deployed) can have a few hours to do whatever they wish. We have space for 40 children, so please RSVP.
Why do we do this?
Military Families, we at First Baptist Church Richmond Hill want to say thank you and we want to meet a small need of yours in a practical and loving way. We recognize the fact that you sacrifice tremendously in service to our country. You stand in the gap, protecting those who can't protect themselves. You do this voluntarily and you do it away from your families, who make the sacrifice of not having you around for months and years at a time. We can't begin to walk in your shoes, though we're thankful you choose to.
SNO is designed to give you, parents, a few hours to connect with your spouse, go out with friends, or just a have a little time to yourselves.
Is SNO just for First Baptist members?
NO! SNO is open to any military family - church member or not. It's open to the spouse's of deployed personnel, or to couples when everyone is home. Thank you's and a desire to be relevant to your life are not limited to those whose names happen to be on our church rolls. No strings attached.
What do the children do?
Have a blast! That's what they do! We have a fun schedule of age-appropriate activities so the children stay busy, engaged, and entertained. We feed them dinner, have playground and/or gym time, have arts and crafts, games, and sometimes movies.
