Security

We take the safety and security of the preschoolers in our care very seriously here at First Baptist Church Richmond Hill.

Child Protection Policy
Our church's Child Protection Policy includes our policies and procedures relating to the safety and protection of children under the age of 18.  These include:

  • Criminal background checks on all volunteers or employees over the age of 18 who work with minor children.
  • Written applications
  • Personal interviews for new leaders
  • Requirement of personal references
  • New volunteers have to be actively involved at FBCRH for 6 months before being considered for a leadership position.  Someone with less than 6 months active involvement would only be considered at pastoral discretion.
  • All classroom doors have windows in them and doors are not locked when people are in the room

Security Tags for Preschoolers
Whenever children kindergarten or younger are left in our care, we ask that they always wear a Security Tag.  These tags serve several purposes.
  • They allow the teacher to match up children with their parents or caregivers at pick-up time, whether they know the child or not.
  • They identify the location of the parent or loved on, in case we need to retrieve them for any reason.
  • In case the parent or caregiver is attending a worship service when we need them, the child's unique Security Tag number would show at the bottom of our Power Point screens, alerting the parent that they need to return to their child's class.

Our Security Tags are available in our Family Life Center lobby on  Sundays and Wednesdays.  For smaller gatherings, such as childcare for a Bible study, etc. the Security Tags will be available in the specific classrooms used.
