Visiting? | First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill GA

Visiting?

Visiting a new church can be very intimidating, especially for children.  Parents, we want to help you know where to go and what to expect.  Because we know new places are stressful for children, and we want to do everything we can up front to help relieve that anxiety.

Welcome Center
For a helping hand, you can go to our Welcome Center.  There you will find people who can help you find your children's classes and help you determine where you want to go.

Self-Guided
If you're a little more adventurous and want to poke around, you are more than welcome!
Most of our preschool and children's classes are located in the Family Life Center - the gym looking building farthest back from Highway 144 and Kroger.

Security
All children kindergarten age and younger need to wear a security tag.  These are individually numbered stickers and are available in the Familly Life Center lobby.  These tags ensure that we match up children with appropriate adults.  They also give us a way to contact the parent during a worship service or Sunday School time if they are needed.

Be sure to keep your corresponding sticker!  We love your children enough that we can only release a child to a parent without a corresponding sticker in the presence of the Preschool Ministries Director or one of our pastors.  Please don't be offended - we just take your children's safety very seriously.

Just so you know, all of our teachers and volunteers have passed a background check too.

Classroom Assignments and Locations
Our Sunday School teachers prepare age-appropriate lessons each week, so we group children in birthdate ranges to most enjoy their time.

The "D" classrooms are located through the double doors to the right of the playground, if you are facing the church buildings from the parking lot.

The "E" classrooms are located through the lobby to the left of the playground if you are facing the church buildings from the parking lot.

During our 8:15 Sunday School hour, we combine several of our classes together and then we divide them out to their appropriate classes for the 9:30 and 11:00 services.  Children dropped off before 9:20 may not be in the same classroom spaces when you return for them later in the morning.  If you are not sure of your child's new classroom location, just ask a teacher and she or he can help you.

Renovations
We will be undergoing some renovation in some of our preschool classrooms in 2008.  When renovations are taking place, we will have lots of signs and directions available to show you where to go!
