Parent Fuel
Sermon 1Tonight I look across this sanctuary at families that have been attacked for generations. We do not even need to give the statistics, it's like a gaping womb and the blood is gushing because the main artery is severed.
Tonight we begin a journey that will not only stop the bleeding, but will create healing and hope for the future of your home. It does not matter if you are a grandparent, parent, teenager, or single. You need this series.
God's desire is that you and your family would be ignited into a fire of passion and purpose for the Lord Jesus Christ.
We come together because inside the walls of this room are people who feel a bond in several things:
1) One God-Ephesians 4:1-3
2) One Goal-I Corinthians 15:31
3) One Gripe-Romans 3:23
The fact is Christians of every generation want to following God and to see the fire of God's presence and power at work in our lives as well as those in our family. There is just one problem, "We are not perfect!" We fail often James says in James 3:2! Barry shares the story of his failure with his son Jonathan on Pgs 20-21. Here is a quote that we must get down tonight:
"PARENTS AREN'T PERFECT. NEVER HAVE BEEN. NEVER WILL BE."
Tonight's class is all about tapping into God's grace in order that we might raise our children, as we should. Now there are those here who as of yet, have not figured out grace. You are the one who is still saying, "I should be able to handle my children." Or you are saying, "I will be able to handle my children." "IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!"
Even on your best day you could not handle all you face in parenting. St. Clair speaks about the two sides of the door of grace. "The outside door and the inside door."
